Division: Power Supply
Reports to: Manager of Transmission Resources
Education: Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, civil or mechanical engineering required. Advanced degree desirable. Registration as a professional Engineer desirable.
Experience: At least five years of progressively responsible engineering work in transmission planning required.
Job Knowledge: Should have a detailed knowledge of transmission planning in the electric utility industry. Should thoroughly understand RUS specifications. Must know load flow, short circuit and stability principles of electrical circuits. Must know engineering economy principles. A general knowledge of regulations affecting transmission is also desirable.
Abilities & Skills: Must be able to effectively prepare written reports, memos, and correspondence and be able to communicate effectively with others. A detailed working knowledge about the use of personal computers is necessary, including software and hardware. Must have demonstrated ability to accept project level responsibility.
Working Conditions: Normal conditions with occasional overtime and travel.
